Operational Space III shows a dystopian image where an abandoned car serves the community as a greenhouse. A home for weeds and the production of oxygen. In a future where clean air can be considered a luxury good, which can perpetuate class differences as dirty air particles inhaled in indoor spaces inhibit brain development, the work questions value and different value systems that are copresent , accessability to certain prerequisites and how we as a society want to relate to future scenarios.
Operational Space III was commissioned by Murf/Murw Festival at Theater De Nieuwe Vorst, Tilburg (NL). During the annual Murf/Murw city festival, experimental music, film, visual arts, theater and dance is given a stage in downtown Tilburg. Murf/Murw asks makers from different artistic disciplines to respond to the annual festival theme. They encourage to create new work or present existing work in a new context. In addition,Murf/Murw encourages makers to enter into new collaborations with artists from different artistic practices.
